Some Republicans who were asked to carry candidate petitions are rippin'--literally--protesting Dolan, Reda, and the Ramapo Carpetbagger (Christopher St. Lawrence)July 13, 2009 We have learned from Republican friends that the petitions returned to the Ramapo Republican Committee have included shredded candidate petitions as well as some that were just torn up, stuffed into an envelope and returned. Here it is. This was the petition sent out to the party faithful. Mike Dolan, party boss at the Ramapo Republican Committee, asked his committee people to hold their noses, and then, with the other hand, hold the noses of the people signing, to get the necessary number of signatures for Christopher St. Lawrence. Yes, this is the same Christopher St. Lawrence who Dolan described before the 2007 election as an egotistical disaster who had sold the town out to developers. (Interesting Note: Where are St. Lawrence's running mates on this petition? Anybody smell bus fumes? Rhoda Schoenberger is there (no way St. Lawrence was going to toss Ilan's wife), but the other two have disappeared beneath the Firestones.
So, while you're still
grinding your teeth over what happened in Nyack, when your party got
co-opted by the politician you'd most like to have one of those town
clocks fall over on, and Mike Dolan writes to tell you,
A number of party loyalists chose the latter, and Dolan has been more difficult to reach by phone recently. It will be very interesting to see from which districts most signatures arrive. Time for Republican party members in Ramapo to take a closer look at where their party stands. And what about the current leaders? Are St. Lawrence and Schoenberger now calling the shots, or is the Reda-Dolan apparatus still functional? Michael Castelluccio |
